From Philippe Lanez, "there is an ancient french word ROUCOIR, in flax transformation retting. At top, a flax flower, left side of of "C". Fax was immersed in a muddy and humid place, then washed with rivers flood. The objective of this degradation was to facilitate the extraction of the fibers. This has been later forbidden because of water pollution."
