Cloth Seal, Dutch, Leiden, Crossed Keys
Cloth Seal, Dutch, Leiden, Crossed Keys, Image & Found by Peter Eggers.
Found in Graft, 21mm, 8.5g.
.XXX // shield bearing crossed keys arms of Leiden, badly struck device possibly including double headed eagle, H on connecting strip
An unusual Leiden seal.
From the finder, " On the other side: 3 crosses, in roman numerals that is 30, but it also looks like the coat of arms of Amsterdam. It could only be placed there over the connecting piece between the two parts. Was it intended to entice unsuspecting buyers with the idea that the fabric came from Amsterdam? I don’t know."
