German, Sugar Bag Seal, Frankenthal, Image by StuE, Found by Quozzy.
Found in Germany, 18mm, 10.1g.
Probably a complete circle border around the outside with double ringed circle at the top with the figure 27 in it, below this is possibly a small star above the middle of a curve of six figures - maybe two stars either end of four letters - *DP??* Other side has circle border with FABRIK straight across the middle and ?(S?)KER curving downwards above and (F?)R??????L curving upwards below with a flower or star below the B in FABRIK.
A German factory seal but which factory or even what type is not yet known.
From Paul Cannon, "I believe this is a German sugar seal and the inscription on the right hand image can probably be read as [ZU]CKER FABRIK FRA[NKENTH]AL. In the German directory ‘Verzeichnis der Rübenzuckerfabriken und Zucker-Raffinerien im deutschen Reiche’ (1900) [Directory of Sugar Beet Factories and Sugar Refineries in the German Empire, printed in Magdeburg, 1900], Frankenthal is listed both as a sugar factory as well as a sugar refinery. For the sugar factory listing see no: 103, p.32 and for the sugar refinery listing see no: 13 p.130. This directory records the full details of the 54 sugar refineries then within the German Empire plus the 398 ordinary sugar factories that were supplying them.
For an image of the Frankenthal sugar works see schöne AK Frankenthal, Zuckerfabrik."
