Cloth Seal, Anne, Alnage, RAR Ligate, Image by StuE, Finder unknown.
Found in England, 16 x 12mm, 2.5g.
The rivet disc probably from a four disc alnage seal with distinctive crowned ligature possibly of Queen Anne.
Crowned ligature or monogram most likely composed of a reversed R an A and another R similar in design to the crowned RWR ligature with reversed first R attributed to William III, but see usual AR ligatures on Lancastrian's seal and on Nos.145 & 152 Fig.27, Geoff Egan, 'Lead cloth seals and related items in the B.M.
