Found in Little Tey near Colchester, 21mm.
From David Powell of the Lead Token Telegraph "It is a very simple piece, but of a design I haven’t come across before, and thank you for showing it to me. It isn’t so much a cartwheel as a steering wheel; I don’t think spokes are intended. I am wondering whether the three objects round the edge might be crowns, of the rather flattened types which on often sees on the tops of shield on coins? in which case it is a business sign. However, they aren’t that convincing, so I will have to remain open-minded. They could just be design. I think in my classification system I would have to put it in type 31, due to the circular arcs. ... I have the piece filed with my late 18th cent degenerates."
