Post Office GPO Seals, Image by StuE, Found by Adam & Lisa.
G.P.O. round bag seals.

2 very similar shaped seals. Both have rust stains and indications of wire attachments and both have only random markings on their reverse. The top side of one has the letters GPO with the number 10 beneath. The other has a Royal Crown as used by the Post Office with letters faintly visible beneath - Broad Arrow? T? and similar seals have been suggested to be military supply seals - see BSG.BS.01442.

Oliver Cromwell established the General Post Office in 1657. For an overview of the history of British postal history from Roman times onward see here.
