From Paul Cannon, "I think this is probably a French flour seal. The left hand image reads: ‘SCHOTSMANS.LYOEN’. The other face ‘AIRE SUR LA LYS’ around ’À’. According to the following link Jean-Françoise Schotsmans married Nathalie Lyoen. Both their names appear on the seal. In the 1840s Schotsmans rebuilt and established an important flour mill at Moulin-le-Comte in Aire-sur-la-Lys in the Pas-de-Calais. For further details of the mill and its buildings see Patrimony and Historic Monuments of France."
