Cloth Seal, Flowers in a Pot, Image & Found by Simon Bourne.
Found on the Thames, Isle of Dogs.
Two part cloth seal with only the head of the rivet missing. The design on disk 1 is a pot with two looped handles containing a plant of which three stems with five petalled flower heads can be clearly seen with a further two flower heads and possibly a bud also present. All of this is enclosed in a U shaped border, possibly a shield? The other disk has what appears to be the imprint of a woven cloth on its outside and the standard hole to receive the rivet at its centre. Closer examination confirmed the stub of a rivet on the reverse of disk 1. No inscription is visible.
It has a Continental look to it.
