BSG.CS.01146 — Cloth Seal, Alnage, Thistle, Harp, 1616

Found on the Thames Foreshore, 14mm, 10.4g.

Blank // harp, (16)16 around, 5 to the right // thistle

A complete four-disc alnage seal. The first 16 for the century is not clear but placing this seal in the reign of James I is quite feasible. The 5 (or possibly 3) would be the alnage charge.
