BSG.CS.01507 — Cloth Seal, Somerset, Alnage, Crowned Thistle

Found in South Somerset, 16mm.

Missing // crowned thistle with figures either side of crown's cross // *, SOMERSET: around // missing

The inner discs from a four-part Somerset alnage seal. If the the figures either side of the cross on the crown are 60, 66 or 68 then they probably refer to the 17th century and the reign of Charles II. This would be in keeping with the design.
