From Philippe Lanez, "Obviously French, for a silk stocking manufacturer, A(in) GANGE (Occitan spelling) for French GANGES. The other side partly reads FABRE (??????), probably OLIVET, rich manufacturer of silk stockings gonee to trade in Paris. (In relation with FABRE LICHAIRE in NÎMES). This is a 18th century seal. There are a few known for Ganges, such as GERVAIS, MEJEAN, SIHlOL, MEIRVEIS or so."
