The inner discs from a four-disc alnage seal.

No other Manchester cloth seals of this period are known although one 'probable' one is recorded from the Commonwealth period, [Provenanced Leaden Seals, Geoffrey Egan, Department of Medieval Archaeology, University College,University of London, 1987, p.151].

Also from the above publication:- "Manchester was producing frizes, cottons, white kersies, rugs, and minikins in 1627-8 (Wadsworth & Mann 1965,13). There was a Manchester Hall at Blackwell Hall in London for the county's products (ibid. 8; Heaton 1965,148 & 188)."
