BSG.CS.02105 — Cloth Seal, Poland, Ozoków,

Customs certification seal from the Kingdom of Poland

Crowned eagle of the Kingdom of Poland, KRÓLEWSTWO POLSKIE ......OZORKOWO around] // a crown coat of arms supported by two opposing lions consisting of shears between two carding combs above two shuttles placed in saltire and at the point an undetermined object (tranchet?)

The above description is based on an identification by Michel Royer, "Customs certification seal lead for a piece of fabric coming from a textile factory most certainly from Ozoków or its nearby region. Here the coat of arms on the reverse are not private coats of arms or those of a city. It seems that these coats of arms represent the textile manufacturing factories of the Kingdom. I did not find this coat of arms in my searches on the Internet. Here the lead bears the eagle of the Kingdom of Poland on the obverse and it is the only one of the 6 studies, the other lead bears the eagle of the Kingdom of Congress (Russian imperial eagle bearing on it a coat of arms with the white eagle Polish). It seems that this type predates the others (first years of the decade of 1820) and was quickly replaced by the lead with the Congress eagle." See Euro-Plombs.
