Cloth Seal, German, Großhartmannsdorf, Image by StuE, Found by John GM.
Found on the Thames foreshore, 15mm, 4.4g.
Cloth seal with three rows of raised lettering on one side possibly overlying a design (tree on a river bank? or even a whale spouting water??) The other (rivet) side has a definite design but it is not clear.
Identified by Michel Royer and Jan van Oostveen as being a German cloth seal from Großhartmannsdorf, "a municipality in the district of Mittelsachsen, in Saxony, Germany."
