Russian Bale Seal
From Ged Dodd, "The only readable part of this seal is 1848 .. Had this date been 1748 I would have had no hesitation in saying this was a Rein Hemp seal with the obverse blank, as it is, and the missing letters above the date on the reverse would have been SPB ..R H .. St Petersburg ..Rein Hemp .. interesting but 100 years too late ... this seal will go on the database at IDS 536 on
