[STR]ALSUN[DER] / [D]AMPFMÜHL[EN] / ACT.GES / [ST]RALSU[ND] // W / 00

Identified by Paul Cannon, "I think this is a flour bag seal from the Steam Mill in Stralsund, in northeastern Germany. I believe it reads [STR]ALSUN[DER] / [D]AMPFMÜHL[EN] / ACT.GES / [ST]RALSU[ND]. I base this on the following example Bleiplomben-Forschung. Here is a further example My Virtual Museum"

From Freunde Historischer Wertpapiere, "date: 05/01/1872 ... When the AG was founded, Herrmann Lehl brought in his steam mill located in Stralsund at a takeover price of 915,000 marks (the AK was initially 1.5 million marks), as well as a newly built mill in Wolgast, which received a new machine and boiler in 1879. According to the issue prospectus (published anonymously and not signed by anyone), the previous owner Lehl assumed a dividend guarantee of 8% for the first 10 years, but this was only paid for the first year. In 1875 the dividend was canceled completely after the company even suffered losses below book value through the sale of land in Stralsund. These were balanced in the following year in terms of accounting by the AG nom. Bought back 300,000 M of its own shares at only 30% of their nominal value. In the following years, the “peak value” of 4% dividend was achieved in 1880. After all, the price on the Berlin stock exchange, which had already slumped to 10%, then rose again to 47.5%. Another peculiarity of the company was an extraordinary degree of grassroots democracy: every shareholder who appeared or was represented at the general assembly had exactly one vote, regardless of the size of the share ownership."
