Identified by Paul Cannon, "a cloth seal for St Gallen, Switzerland. For a parallel to this one, with the joining strip still in place, confirming that it is a cloth seal and not a token see 'Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum: Medieval Catalogue, Part 3. Edited by Peter Saunders (2001)', pp73-4 & Fig 27 item no. 166. [S (reversed) // G (Lombardic letters)]. [?late 15th century]"
